Animal & Equine Thermal Imaging

The process is non-contact and doesn’t require sedation. We come to you so it is less stressful for your horse. There is no nuclear radiation so it is safe for horse and handler and can be used repeatedly with all other treatments and procedures.

Thermal Imaging can be used to evaluate areas which are inaccessible to other diagnostic tools making it useful in the preliminary identification of injuries and lesions in hard to reach areas such as the back and upper limbs.

Thermography offers an affordable, safe, repeatable monitoring tool which can successfully identify problems associated with inflammation, lameness and pain.

It is just like having a photograph taken. We come to your yard and use a sepcialised Infrared camera to take different pictures of your horse. The images are then digitally enhanced and analysed by an equine scientist. The results are compiled into a report and sent to you the following day.

On request a copy of the scan report can be sent to your veterinarian. This service is free of charge.

We use the latest technology to monitor repair and rehabilitation following injury, disease and infection, assisting you in making the right decision about when is the most appropriate time to resume your horses work schedule.

Our service compliments the work of your veterinarian, farrier, saddle fitter and physiotherapist. If appropriate we can arrange to meet on site to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to resolving your horses underlying physiological problems. A full anatomical scan can reassure you if you are concerned about changes in your horses behaviour or way of going. We do not diagnose, however, if we identify any areas of unexplained heat that might require veterinary attention, then this will be highlighted in the report.
